National Inhalant Prevention Coalition

Anti-Drug Campaign
This website provides information on substance abuse prevention for youth, parents and people interested in volunteering in their community. It also provides a list of concrete positive, asset-based activities to do to get the anti-drug and alcohol message across to youth of all ages. The information here is available in English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese.

The Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT) is a department within the College of Education at the University of Nevada, Reno. Our primary mission is to transfer information, resources, and research in substance abuse prevention, treatment, and training using current technologies.

National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA): College Drinking

  2. Offer recommendations to college and university presidents on the potential effectiveness of current strategies to reverse the culture of drinking on campus

National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)
NIDA supports over 85 percent of the world's research on the health aspects of drug abuse and addiction. NIDA supported science addresses the most fundamental and essential questions about drug abuse, ranging from the molecule to managed care, and from DNA to community outreach research.

Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP)
The principal purpose of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy is to establish policies, priorities, and objectives for the Nation's drug control program. ONDCP leads the Nation's counter-narcotic efforts by developing policies and coordinating, promoting, and implementing initiatives to successfully reduce the supply, use, and social acceptance of drugs in the United States. This mission is implemented through congressionally mandated activities as well as strategic initiatives aimed at reducing illicit drug use, drug manufacturing and trafficking, and drug-related crime and violence.

Oregon (State) Office of Mental Health & Addiction Services (OMHAS)
OMHAS is dedicated to preventing Oregonians of all ages from abusing alcohol and other drugs, and ensuring that the best treatment possible is available for people who need help with addiction problems.

Prevention On-Line (PREVLINE)
A website for youth, teens, parents, adults, community members. This website comes from the federal office of Health and Human Services - Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.

Prevention Research Center
A national center for the study of environmental approaches to prevention of alcohol-related problems.

Western Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (Western CAPT)
The purpose of CAPT is to assist states, jurisdictions, and community-based prevention programs in the Western Region to apply scientifically-defensible strategies in their efforts to prevent substance abuse.

Conflict Resolution

National Center for Conflict Resolution Education
To advance the development of conflict resolution education programs nationwide towards the goals of providing conflict resolution educational opportunities to all youth. NCCRE attempts to reach youth through several venues including schools, juvenile justice programs and community youth services organizations.

Oregon Dispute Resolution Commission
Supports the development and maintenance of effective conflict resolution and collaborative problem solving processes in Oregon.

Milbank Memorial Fund
The Milbank Memorial Fund is an endowed national foundation that supports nonpartisan analysis, study, research and communication on significant issues in health policy. The Fund makes available the results of its work in meetings with decision makers, reports and books, and publishes the Milbank Quarterly, a peer-reviewed journal of public health and health care policy.

Violence Prevention

BluePrints for Violence Prevention
Identifies programs and describes interventions in a series of "blueprints" including theoretical rationale, core components of the program as implemented, evaluation designs and results, and  practical experiences programs encountered while implementing model at multiple sites. Blueprints was designed to offer practical descriptions of effective programs which would allow states, communities, and individual agencies to: (1) determine  appropriateness of the intervention for their state or community; (2) provide a realistic cost estimate for the intervention; (3) provide an assessment of organizational capacity needed to ensure its successful start-up and operation over time; and (4) give an indication of  potential barriers and obstacles that might be encountered when attempting to implement the intervention.

STOP IT NOW!'s mission is to call on all abusers and potential abusers to stop and seek help, to educate adults about the ways to stop sexual abuse, and to increase public awareness of the trauma of child sexual abuse.

Safer Society
The Safer Society Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit agency, is a national research, advocacy, and referral center on the prevention and treatment of sexual abuse. Founded in 1964 as the Prison Research Education Action Project (P.R.E.A.P.) by Fay Honey Knopp, P.R.E.A.P. evolved into the Safer Society Program in 1985, and became the Safer Society Foundation, Inc. in 1995. The Safer Society Foundation, Inc. provides a variety of services related to the prevention and treatment of sexual abuse.
